Dedicated web app based on interactive maps, where operators are provided with a calculation form and maps presenting vessels’ current and predicted future routes with their ETA.

We joined ZeroNorth from the beginning and watched them grow through all these years. The tool displays information such as vessel status, speed, draught, weather, market rates and much more are processed and presented on the graphs.

Our teams created a service for defining polygons, serving them with specific constraints, rendering polygons on a map and passing values to the optimisations service. The main goal is to display all data correctly and allow all optimisation processes to run smoothly.

What was the team composition?

At its peak, we’ve had over ten people from their team working for us full-time. Throughout our collaboration, we’ve scaled up the team as needed. Their segmented team is comprised of managers, scrum masters, and developers. They’re largely integrated with our in-house team.

How did you come to work with Setapp?

Although I wasn’t directly involved in the hiring decision, I’d worked with them before through my previous firm. I believe we decided to go with them because of that good past experience.

  • At the beginning of our cooperation, Deutsche Binnenreederei AG wished to verify if we could secure crucial business processes by replacing the current fleet management solution with something custom-made.
  • We should explain that DBR used a GPS monitoring platform with upsetting from the clients' perspective disadvantages, making monitoring their fleet difficult. 
  • They were also using a few analogue outdated solutions that needed rapid digitalisation and wished to decrease the maintenance costs of their current digital tools.

We also significantly improved signal coverage by adding AIS and GPS tracking. We replaced GPS transmitters on barges with custom-made efficient ones.

Moreover, our tool allows dispatchers to better manage the fleet with easy access to real-time waterway information, such as lockings and warnings - this data we achieved from integration with ELWIS system.

We have designed a realistic virtual reality environment that supports the development of right habits among the future forklift operators.

We created a fully modular and configurable professional training solution - Advanced Forklift Simulator with dedicated Training Application.

We also developed video, simulation game “Best Forklift Operator”. It was a specific proof of concept for us, that VR games and professional training are something that can work together for transport industry.
